Description
Upgrading from a 3700x and a 5700 XT in an ITX case. Really nice to build in a mid tower again, so much room. Just put my old ITX mobo in and it fits pretty nicely. It doesn't cover the cutout for ATX mobos but the LEDs give it sort of a cool glowy effect.
Part Reviews
CPU
Got it pretty discounted for 340$ just as the 7000s came out, really nice boost in performance even in gaming from my previous 3700x. All I had to do was update my mobo bios.
CPU Cooler
Pump can get a little loud, emitting a high pitched whirring sound. But fortunately the RPM can be turned down. Generally quiet.
Motherboard
Has done the job since 2019 but the LEDs on the backside are very fragile, one has fallen off already and another came dead out of the box.
Video Card
Huge upgrade over the 5700 XT, temperatures rarely even touch the 70s while maxing out 1080p at 144hz or UHD at 90-120hz. Minor coil whine. Huge heatsink barely fit in the H5 flow and the GPU brace that it came with would not fit, so I had to get one third party.
Case
Amazing to build in and looks great, tons of space on the backside for cable management. Note that the lower intake fan occupies space where one might put a hard drive.
Power Supply
Coil whine if not turned on eco mode but otherwise a solid PSU, operating since 2015 or so.
