Description
I had been gaming on a PS4 since it came out, but one day I learned about the PC world. For about 2 months, I dedicated a ton of time to researching and learning about PC parts and building computers. I had a budget of $1000 for my PC and tried to create a PC focused at 1080p gaming with a 144 hz monitor and to also look fairly nice. I had a lot of money saved up and was ready to put it to use on something.
My main decision was if I was going to go with Intel or AMD and I ended up going with AMD because of the great price to performance ratio. I heard a lot of praise concerning the RTX 2060 and it fit my budget perfectly so I went for it. After 2 months I ordered all of my parts and received everything within a week.
Building the PC went fairly smooth (my only fault being forgetting to plug in the CPU power cable) and the parts all fit nicely together. I did have to manually set the ram to 3000 mhz though as it was automatically set to 2133. TechSource and Bitwit helped me a lot to complete the process of building the computer. In the future, I plan to pick up an aftermarket cooler or aio liquid cooler so I can overclock my cpu farther, but for now I am fine using the stock cooler.
Let me know if you have on comments, critiques, or suggestions on what you would've done and I'll be sure to read them :)
Part Reviews
CPU
Great price to performance cpu. No problems with it so far
Motherboard
Good budget B450 motherboard that works great. BIOS is not too confusing too. I do wish that it had an adressable RGB header on it though.
Storage
Insanely cheap for a 500GB SSD, only problem I had is that you have to update the drivers on it or else you will experience random, short freezes.
Video Card
Great card for 1080 or 1440 gaming that is quiet and looks really nice
Case
Well built case for the price, Only comes with one fan, no rubber grommets, and few tie down points in the back. Kinda wish i got an H500 or Meshify C
Power Supply
Does the job, have had no problems
Case Fan
They look great and perform well. They can get a little loud though and I wasn't able to put any static colors on them with the limited color options on the included mini controller. I had to get software control for lighting customization using the MasterPlus software which didn't work at first because I had to update the firmware on the mini controller. I also had to stealth route a micro usb cable from the controller to a usb port on the back of my motherboard through a pcie bracket
Custom
Super cheap great looking sleeved cable extensions. They stay right where they are when you shape them into place.
